1 in 3 Australias area at risk of kidney disease

The % of people over 60 with Kidney disease indicators

The % of people who don't know they have kidney disease

Save Your Kidneys, Protect Your Heart…

In Australia today, kidney disease remains one of our nation’s biggest “silent killers”, and often goes completely unnoticed before kidney damage is so advanced that dialysis or renal transplant are the only options remaining.

Currently 1 in 3 Australians are at risk of kidney disease, and an individual can lose up to 90% of kidney function before experiencing any signs or symptoms of kidney disease. If you have kidney disease, you are more likely to get heart disease, which is the most common cause of death amongst people with kidney disease.

That’s why Ana’s philosophy isn’t just treating the disease, it’s about treating the patient who  has the disease, and empowering Melburnians to prevent kidney damage from escalating.

With more than 40% of people over 75 having some indicator of kidney disease today, it’s vitally important that you make a point of having your kidneys regularly monitored – especially if you have hypertension, diabetes, a family history of kidney disease or other factors that may impact your kidney health.
